Urban structure is a very interesting subject matter for me. I am particularly intrigued by the alleys in residential areas. Unlike large-scale apartment unit designed by an architect, various structures found in small alleys of residential areas seem to exist in fracture of many different construction laws avoiding to be defined by the laws. However, they bear an amazing rationale as well as a self-fostering order. I find it truly interesting to explore the significance of undefined nature of those structures. As walking along the various streets of Seoul, I find even more diverse structures and multi-face tedness of urban landscape.

I experience the city with my hands and feet groping different facets of it; then I stand in front of a canvas and restructure the different constructions and forms  based upon the spatial senses I have experienced from my "walk."I name this art-making process "Amorphous Construction".
